Venezuela - Hundreds of Pet Dogs Discarded Along Roadways By Owners Who Can No Longer Care For Them

LA VICTORIA, Venezuela — Every day on her approach to work, Angela Exposito sees more deserted pooches along the street, disposed of by owners who can no longer afford to deal with them.

Exposito, who heads Fundanimalia, a non-profit creature salvage association, said the numbers of deserted Pets have soared in the course of the most recent three months as the nation's economy drops into intensifying bedlam. As of not long ago, most stray pooches she saw were mutts or blended breeds. Presently she sees more purebreds, for example, brilliant retrievers, left to search for trash along the Pan American Highway that goes by this industrial city of 150,000, around 50 miles west of the capital, Caracas.
