Mna or Fir? A common pub challenge

For those of us not well versed in Gaelic, those cunning Celts are getting some amusement at our expense. Many Irish bars now pose the question of Mna or Fir when the effects of a good pint of Guinness lead to nature calling. So which is the ladies and which is the gents? Do not be fooled that the first letter can be used - M = Male and F = Female. In this case it is the exact opposite. This goes to show the benefit from learning some basic lingo before travelling abroad or even visiting an overseas bar at home. Trip Savvy provides a nice little summary for any traveler - https://www.tripsavvy.com/basic-irish-words-1542717 - to help avoid that little embarrassment!

You too can have your very own bathroom signs! along with many other Celtic images and signs - check out our Artwork section where we are adding new and fun items regularly.
