Self direction is very admirable. Neon Indian sure knows how to impress us every time, and today another Alan Palomo-curated video has released. It's for his single, "Annie," which released earlier this year on his album, VEGA INTL. NIGHT SCHOOL.
The video for "Annie" is receiving (and will continue) widespread attention, being premiered at the Sundance Next Fest last weekend at the Ace Hotel in Downtown LA. The event also premiered new content from other artists like Blood Orange, Flying Lotus and Mark Pritchard & Thom Yorke.
A press release sums up the imaginitive visuals --
"A karaoke video turned fever dream in which Alan has to traverse B-roll cityscapes, taped over TV shows, and phone sex commercial breaks in search of a missing ex-lover. Shot over 8 cities on Neon Indian's last tour of Asia, all libidinal hell breaks loose in this glistening meta ode to laserdisc-era sing-alongs."
We'll let this work of art speak for itself.
