We’re all used to the glittering life of fashion weeks as they take place all over the world. We find ourselves raving about the new trends popping up and which designer just had the absolute best collection.
But what about beauty? When do we learn about those trends?
Nordstrom’s Beauty Trend Week is our answer. It’s a week dedicated to the latest trends in beauty – showing you new cosmetics and skincare that will rock your world. There are makeovers throughout the week and it all ends with a bang. The Beauty Trend Show.
To get your ticket, you spend $20 on a gift card that you can use in the store. You show up the day of bright and early (8:00 AM). They provide a cute bag with fun samples, snacks, and a raffle ticket. There are so many giveaways throughout the show and they’re absolutely fantastic prizes to win.
The show this spring focused on the following trends: Polished Nudes, Rosy-to-Red Lips, and Golden Day & Sultry Nights. I am definitely a fan of each of these, even if polished nudes isn’t always my thing.
Below are a few of my favorite products that were in the show.
Lancôme Teint Idole Ultra 24H Liquid Foundation ($47)
I have been a Lancoôme girl for years and just recently started my shift into my obsession with Smashbox. However, I can’t help but fall in love with the fun products that they come out with – like this 24 hour liquid foundation. Don’t know what I’d do that would require foundation that long-lasting, but it’s great to know it’s an option. It comes in 40 shades and is supposed to be super comfortable to wear.
Sara Happ Lip Scrub ($24)
We all have those dry lip days when we get mad because our lip balm is just not doing it’s job. For me, that’s pretty often. I’ve been dying to find something to really help with my lips and I was so happy to learn about this product line. They specialize in lip scrubs, which are great for exfoliating (I tried it at the store and it was magical). I bought the last Sparkling Pink Grapefruit that was in store and just love it! Their lip mask is also amazing and feels so nice on.
Dior Addict Lacquer Stick ($35)
Who doesn’t love Dior? I’m so excited about this line of lipsticks – they’ve got a gorgeous collection of shades and colors, and all perfect for our rosy-to-red lips. These lipsticks combine the matte coverage but still have shine like a lipgloss. It’s perfection.
Smashbox Covershot Eyeshadow Palette ($29)
We’ve already discussed my pure love for this collection by Smashbox, but as it was in the show I just want to circle back around to remind you. They’re amazing and just the perfect travel size to take with you wherever you want. I had a makeover with Smashbox after the show and we used the bold palette – it was gorgeous.
And of course, beauty wasn’t the only thing in the show! There was some great fashion as well.
Overall, I had a fantastic time! I love getting to go around to all of the stations afterward, trying out skincare and different cosmetics. It always makes me feel like a supermodel afterward and I always have so much fun with the people that I talk to! Plus, the free gifts with purchase add some extra pizazz to the entire thing.
I definitely recommend going to one of these shows if you ever get the chance. The money you spend on the ticket goes onto a gift card, so you still get to use it on purchasing some great products afterward. And it’s just an experience worth having – even just once!
