Top 7 National Parks

Okay so I haven’t been to them all, but I have been to a lot. Here are my top 7 for your review. Let me know what you think Before we get going with this over opinionated list let me just say by god if you haven’t been to a National Park please go! I think the national park system is one of my favourite things about the USA.

7. Everglades

A huge park that seems to take up a quarter or Florida, this park has something completely different to any other. If you are looking for wildlife The Everglades is a great place to go, if you find a board walk you will find birds, insects, reptiles and alligators.

6. Bryce Canyon

Bryce is something you can do in a day if you like, it is one of the smaller parks so you can even fit it in on the way through to something else. Bryce isn’t a true canyon, it is formed by weather rather than a river. You will have easy access to a great hike down to the “Hoodoos” right at the car park. Beauty that is easily accessible.

5. Yellowstone

One of the most visited parks, if not THE most Yellowstone is pretty cool. It is massive but please go in the summer, the park is pretty much closed during the winter. You will see things in Yellowstone that you wont see anywhere else. This park should by higher and generally will be for other people, I think I just had better experiences at other parks. See Bison in the wild for the first time was pretty cool though.

4. Zion

Zion is pretty unbelievable, it is close to Bryce so you can visit both on the same trip. I think what I love about Zion is how under-rated it feels. The narrows are really cool and so is Angels Landing. (This is the place that you will often see on Facebook that features people walking along a cliff edge either side of the path).

3. Redwoods

Okay so we just drove through Redwoods, I shall not lie. However this part of the country is by far my favourite. Highway 1 and the 101 are pretty incredible, driving through Redwood National Park was the best drive I have ever had.

2. Yosemite

Number 2 and number 1 on the list are basically down to how seeing these places made me feel. We drove into Yosemite having been told how beautiful it is, we were not mislead. Yosemite honestly made me question the existence of a God, or a creator. The tunnel view looks too perfect to be natural, everything looks so artistically placed.

1. Grand  Canyon

This place took my breath away like no other. It needs to be on everyone’s bucket list, everyone should make plans to go and hike even a little into it. I have seen a lot of special places but this one tops the list.

As a side note if you are traveling the states and need to book a hotel use the following link. You will get $25 cash back onto your card, and then as a little bonus so will I. Then once you have completed your stay you will get a similar link for your friends. If you are booking a hotel anyway it make sense to get a good discount.
