Ty Lawson looked to be a future NBA star when he was coming out North Carolina. After a few bumps in the road and a decent rookie season we saw some potential. Then the next year he performed well and got consistently better. It wasn't until Lawson left Denver that he struggled.
The 28 year old guard was a 15 and 8 guy for most of his career. Then he was traded to Houston and averaged just 5 points a game. After a bad year with the Rockets, Lawson was shipped to Indiana where most thought he would shine. Which actually didn't happen. Lawson ended up playing even worse than he did in Houston.
Now he finds himself in Sacramento. He has a chance to kind of rebolt his career. Darren Collison is most likely going to be the starting guard. That means that Ty Lawson will serve as the backup point guard. He could end up making a run for Collison's job but no one is expecting much from the Carolina boy.
Ty Lawson will serve as average help to Sacramento. He will be a guy who can spot up shoot and give you a spark off the bench. If Lawson can stay healthy then look for him to do what he did in Denver. He can maybe be a 10 and 10 guy if he stays 110% healthy.
Do you guys think that Ty Lawson will be good in Sacramento? Why or why not? How many points will Lawson average? How many assists will Lawson average?
