Hi everyone, I hope you haven’t missed my wedding planning updates too much! We now have only 94 days until THE day – which is a little scary to say the least! I feel totally unprepared and very nervous however we did have our Engagement Photo Shoot this weekend. So today I wanted to let you in on what it was like plus share a few of our favourite pics.
So our lovely photographer Darren created a package for us which included an engagement Photo Shoot. He explained that it helps brides and grooms get comfortable being in front of the camera and is great for a guest book, if we so wished. He then asked us where we would like it to take place. We gave it some thought and decided on Worthing Pier. This is where Liam popped the question and we both spent alot of time as kids. The next step was deciding what to wear!
Liam had a good hair cut and beard trim on the morning of the shoot, threw on a casual denim shirt and looked amazing. I spent the whole morning running around worrrying, what do you wear to an engagement photoshoot? I decided on a relatively casual outfit but jazzed it up with some nice jewellery. However upon arriving in town the sun was beating down on me and I could NOT handle the heat. Very quickly I nipped to Dorothy Perkins and picked up a colourful top, changed, re-did my hair and voila. One very hot, excited mess of a woman ready for her engagement photoshoot.
We met Darren at the front of Worthing Pier for 1pm on Friday. He didn’t live in or even that close to Worthing so the whole shoot was very spontaneous, which was super fun. We showed him the spot where Liam popped the question, the fun little arcade, the rockpools and even our favourite burger bar. Darren was really fun to work with and made us very comfortable, even if the wind was almost blowing us away. The shoot in total was around 2 hours or so and once finished Darren said we would have our photos within a week. Tuesday evening I came home to find our photos on a CD posted to us – super quick service and so much excitement!!
All the photos were fabulous, a few I refuse to share because it appears I suddenly have three chins! I especially love the first photo (top of the blog). My advice would 100% be to secure an engagement photo shoot with your photographer, it was so much fun! On the day just relax and forget that a camera is there, I know this is hard. Last but not least, smile! This may sound silly but I got really nervous and therefore quite a few pictures I look kinda miserable, when in reality I was just concious of looking stupid!
I hope you’ve enjoyed my little engagement photo shoot blog and if you have any questions do let me know in the comments below! If you’ve fallen in love with my photo’s then be sure to check out D B Photography Sussex – we can’t wait to have Darren photograph our wedding day!
Best, Sussex Bride xox
