I love the idea of a vineyard wedding, and as a wedding blogger I see so many gorgeous celebrations from Californian vineyards… but did you know we have our very own vineyards here in the UK? Today’s gorgeous shoot comes from Hidden Spring Vineyard in East Sussex. The Tasting Room at Hidden Spring makes for a lovely wedding reception room, and the vineyard location is wonderfully inspiring for your wedding theme… especially when you can book some of the fab suppliers who collaborated on this creative shoot!

As a wedding stylist I encourage my couples not to go with a theme but instead be inspired by their surroundings and not be afraid to mix antiques and modern items. This creates depth and texture in the overall design of a tablescape or room – the results are just magical!
Alison (our photographer) and I were so happy when the owners at Hidden Spring Vineyard agreed to let us use their lovely wedding venue as a backdrop for our shoot. We did most of our shooting indoors in the unusual yet chic tasting room so we naturally chose to go for a relaxed feel, with modern luxury touches in the florals and tableware. We had a rock star cast of suppliers who helped bring this gorgeous shoot to life.
The lush florals were the star of the show and included roses, thistles, lisianthus in soft pastel shades which combined with different types of foliage such as Asparagus Fern-with it’s light, soft feel and Moorei Eucalyptus for its scent and flowing leaves. Foliage is so important as it can completely alter a look or style with its tones and shades. Our fab florist, Ana, took the florals in a chic and modern direction the addition of succulents (so on trend right now), giving the palette, added depth and interest. Dried seed heads from Scabious were also used to add texture to the overall designs.
I love creating atmospheres that exude an understated elegance and luxury. The tablescape was a mixture of ornate under plates and glassware, vintage style cutlery and gold lace rimmed plates (antiques). I mixed this in with some unusual candle holders, mercury glass tea light holders and beautiful hand written stationery made by Ollie’s Studio to bring in that relaxed elegance one would experience in a vineyard setting. The mint coloured cake and macarons (with ruffle and brushed gold elements), were simple but just beautiful as a result of the impeccable design detail incorporated by Fen from Monannie Cakes.
I find that if going for an elegant look, it’s best to keep any bridal wear and make up/hair simple and chic – this was achieved beautifully by our beauty artist Tinu and carried off exquisitely by Ellena our gorgeous model who adorned a delicate hand made gown from This Modern Love Bridal.
