How to Plan for Your Next Vacation

When is the last time you took a vacationa real vacation in which you didn’t connect at all to work, to your phone, to the internet?

If you’re like many Americans, it’s probably been too long. In fact, about half of all Americans don’t even get the chance to use their vacation days—much less report whether or not they check in on work while they’re away.

So how do we fix this—as employers, employees, and simply people who need a break once in a while?    For starters, giving as much notice as possible helps you to plan, and helps others to plan, too—asking you for items they need or getting your input before you leave. And if you leave a plan in place for who is tasked with covering for your duties while you’re gone, you’re less likely to create stress in your absence.
