Revving Up Revenue: Earn Cash with Your Car!

When you have a family, pretty much anything you can do to make a bit more cash can mean a world of difference. These days, the average family has a couple of cars. What this often means is that one Car isn’t in use all that much. It seems like a bit of a waste, right? But what are you supposed to do with it?

There are actually a lot of families out there who are using their car to make some extra cash for themselves. So how can you do it? Let’s take a look at some of the most popular and lucrative ways of doing it.

Sell it!

We may as well get the really obvious suggestion out of the way first. This is probably the most reliable and often the most lucrative way of making money from your car. After all, you are going to have to spend a decent amount of time making money from it otherwise, and if you don’t have enough time to do so, then selling it may be the only feasible way of getting that cash. If you have two family cars, you could consider selling both so you’ve got a nice amount to spend on a really nice ride from a new car dealer.

Be an Uber driver

This is probably suggestion that most people are familiar with, considering how famous Uber have become these days. It is worth pointing out that many people have found themselves highly dissatisfied with their life as an Uber driver. However, there are many who love it and manage to make a healthy living from it. As long as your car is a suitable model that’s less than five years old, you’re eligible to become an Uber driver. Make sure you know the pros and cons before starting such a pursuit!

Rent your car out

There are a couple of ways in which you can do this. If you don’t use your car during the week, or during the weekend, then renting it out could be a great option. There are businesses out there than help people who want to rent a car connect with people who can lend them one. Make sure you work with a business that screens the drivers who want to rent cars!

Alternatively, you can look into lending your car to an airport Car Rental Business. While not every car rental business offers such a service, it’s worth finding out if your local one is offering to pay drivers so they can borrow their cars. This can be very lucrative for people who have a luxury car they’re willing to lend!

Instruct other wannabe drivers

As long as your car is roadworthy and safe, you can use it to teach people how to drive. Of course, this will depend to a great extent on where you live. In most states, you shouldn’t have a problem becoming a certified driving instructor if you want to. When people imagine driving instructors, they usually imagine employees of particular businesses. But there are loads of independent, self-employed driving instructors out there. If you have the patience to pass your skills onto those who are willing to learn (and trust me, you’re going to need a lot of patience!), then this could be a great money-maker if you have a few hours spare a week.

Do some advertising

If you don’t mind your car becoming a remote billboard, then you can do some advertising. Local or even national businesses are usually on the lookout for any reasonable means of getting the word out about their business, and this often takes the form of paying drivers to plaster adverts for the business onto their cars. Generally, ‘car wrap’ will be applied to your car in whatever area you give the clearance for (you can get the whole thing wrapped in adverts if you want, as long as it’s not on the windows or mirrors!). This is a safe self-adhesive to which posters, fliers, logos, and other such things can be affixed.

It’s worth mentioning that you should make sure you read all of the terms and conditions whenever you sign up to do this with a company. Some may require you to do this for a year or more, or possibly cover a set number of miles every month.

Become a courier

Much like Uber, there are companies out there who work with self-employed drivers to deliver items. These independent couriers get matched up with delivery jobs within their area. Of course, you need to be careful about what kind of assignments you take on. If it’s too far out of the way, you’ll need to ensure the pay actually covers the expenses as well as providing you with a profit. There are some businesses out there that specialize in offering jobs along a route that you’re already driving for personal purposes.

Become a YouTuber

Have you got a particular set of skills to do with cars that you want to share with the world? Maybe you know some good driving techniques, or you have a very sought-after car, or you’re an expert in maintenance and fixes? In which case, you could consider becoming a YouTuber. Get enough subscribers and regular watchers and you can make quite a healthy amount of money from the venture.

You don’t even have to show your face to make a YouTube series about cars and driving.  If you live in an area that people around the world would love to drive around in, or live near famous roads or go traveling a lot in your car, then you can get a dashboard cam and film your travels. Dashcam footage of casual drives is a lot more popular than you might think!

Deliver food

If you love the idea of driving around with the smell of delicious food that you’re not allowed to eat in your car, then you could consider signing up to become a self-employed takeout delivery driver. Again, the system works a little like Uber. Just make sure that your car insurance company are willing to keep covering you if you’re going to use your car to deliver the occasional pizza.
