Hahaha, I know right? I have to say I’m a Love story sucker. On of my favorite Christian movies is the story of Esther, “One Night with the King.” All it took is one night for the king to distinguish her…hahaha. Of course, it was part of God’s plan.
What does this mean for us singles? A right man for you will move mountains to be with you; he won’t hide behind them. If that king hasn’t noticed you by today, after knowing you for years now, that you are it, cut your losses and just move on. It doesn’t take a man, or a woman, five years to know you are the one. Enough of my personal jiggles romancing fabrications…hahaha. I really don’t know the whole truth concerning this love romance thing. I just watch lots of movies and read all kinds of stories, but when I get my own story, and experience it myself of my own kind, I will give you my honest advice.
They say “Don’t wait for someone else to do it for you,” so I have been in the Valentine’s vibe, I have got to watch a few Valentine’s movies last week and this week…hahaha. I mean, it’s a season; you can’t open an email or scroll through social media networks without seeing a message of love, or romance.
I have two short stories to share today as my Valentine’s gift to you my readers and listeners. I got both of them from Kids World Fun dot com.
One of them is called “The Most Beautiful Heart.” And this is what it says;
One day, in a heavily crowded place, a young man began shouting.
“People, look at me. I have the most beautiful heart in the world.”
Many people looked at him and were stunned to see his beautiful heart in a perfect shape, without any flaw. It looked quite amazing. Most of the people who saw his heart were mesmerized by the beauty of his heart, and praised him.
However, there came an old man who challenged the young man, “No my son, I have got the most beautiful heart in the world!”
The young man asked him, “Show me your heart, then!”
The old man showed his heart to him. It was very rough, uneven, and had scars all over. In addition, the heart was not in shape; it appeared like bits and pieces joined in various colors. There were some rough edges; some parts were removed, and fitted with other pieces.
The young man started laughing, and said, “My dear old man, are you mad? See, my heart! How beautiful and flawless it is. You cannot find even a bit of imperfection in my heart. See, yours? It is full of scars, wounds, and blemishes. How can you say your heart is beautiful?”
“Dear boy, my heart is just as beautiful as your heart is. Did you see the scars? Each scar represents the love I shared with a person. I share a piece of my heart with others when I share love, and in return I get a piece of heart, which I fix at the place from where I have torn a piece!” said the old man.
The young man was shocked.

The old man continued, “Since the pieces of heart I shared were neither equal nor in the same shape or size, my heart is full of uneven edges and bits and pieces. My heart is not in shape because sometimes I do not get love in return from those to whom I gave it. Your heart that looks fresh and full with no scars indicates that you never shared love with anybody. Isn’t that true?”
The young man stood still and did not speak a word. Tears rolled down his cheeks. He walked to the old man, tore a piece of his heart and gave the piece to the old man.
Many give importance and respect to physical beauty. Yet, real beauty is not physical!
Another short story is called “Love and The Time Story.” And honestly, I first read this short story from Simply Me SMC blog. And the story says;
Once upon a time, there was an island where all the feelings lived: Happiness, Sadness, Knowledge, and all the others, including Love. One day it was announced to the feelings that the island would sink, so all constructed boats and left. Except for Love.
Love was the only one who stayed. Love wanted to hold out until the last possible moment. When the island had almost sunk, Love decided to ask for help.
Richness was passing by Love in a grand boat. Love said, “Richness, can you take me with you?”
Richness answered, “No, I can’t. There is a lot of gold and silver in my boat. There is no place here for you.”
Love decided to ask Vanity who was also passing by in a beautiful vessel. “Vanity, please help me!”
“I can’t help you, Love. You are all wet and might damage my boat,” Vanity answered.
Sadness also passed close by, so Love asked, “Sadness, let me go with you.”
“Oh . . . Love, I am so sad that I need to be by myself!”
Happiness passed by Love, too, but she was so happy that she did not even hear when Love called her.
Suddenly, there was a voice, “Come, Love, I will take you.” It was an elder.
So blessed and overjoyed, Love even forgot to ask the elder where they were going. When they arrived at dry land, the elder went his own way. Realizing how much she owed to the elder, Love asked Knowledge, another elder, “Who helped me?”
“It was Time,” Knowledge answered.
“Time?” asked Love. “But why did Time help me?”
Knowledge smiled with deep wisdom and answered, “Because only Time is capable of understanding how valuable Love is.”
Aren’t these two short stories inspiring? I thought I would share them with you as part of my Valentine’s gift to you, because most of us we connect and respond well to stories.
Oh well, Happy Valentine’s day guys.
