Champions league winners Real Madrid have confirmed that right-back Dani Carvajal has suffered a hamstring injury and will now miss Euro 2016.
Carvajal picked up the problem in the Champions League final victory against Atletico Madrid on saturday, leaving the pitch in tears after 52 minutes.
However, following tests on conducted Monday, a statement on Madrid's official club website has confirmed that Carvajal has suffered a hamstring injury.
A Real Madrid statement reads:
"After the tests carried out today at the Sanitas La Moraleja University Hospital,""the player Daniel Carvajal has been diagnosed with a grade-two injury to the right iliopsoas. His recovery will continue to be assessed."
Meanwhile, Arsenal defender Hector Bellerin is now set to replace Carvajal in Spain's squad for the tournament in France."
