June 12: President Buhari renames Abuja national stadium after MKO Abiola

President Buhari has renamed the Abuja National Stadium after late politician and business mogul MKO Abiola.

The President made this pronouncement in his speech at Eagle Square, Abuja, during the Democracy Day celebrations today Wednesday, June 12th.

During his lifetime, Abiola was a lover and staunch financier of sports in Nigeria.

Moshood Kashimawo Abiola MKO is the presumed winner of the June 12th 1993 presidential election that was cancelled by former military leader, Ibrahim Babangida.
