We’re weeks removed from the passing of Phife Dawg of A Tribe Called Quest. On Sunday, Q-Tip took to his Twitter to share his thoughts on The Five-Footer in a series of tweets. Even though their differences were documented, the “Breathe and Stop” rhymer said they shared an “unconditional love and brotherhood.”

“I miss my lil brotha so much right now,” Q-Tip wrote. “He is my hero. I’ve never seen such a fighter…He left me with the gift of unconditional love and brotherhood that will NEVER be lost with me…Ever.”

“I take pride in having the blessing of knowing and having Malik in my life,” he continued. “I’m sure u can relate when u lost ur family member how the sadness overtakes u when u know. U won’t laugh with them or see them on this plane again… But once again [t]heir spirit is with u…Knowing that brings a peaceful but melancholy closure.”

Recently, Tip paid tribute to his former bandmate with a two-hour set on his Abstract Radio show on Beats 1 show Abstract Radio, which is still available on Apple Music. As well, surviving group members have invited fans to a special memorial service at St. Albans Park in Queens on Monday, April 4.

I miss my lil brotha so much right now…. He is my hero. I've never seen such a fighter. I'm sure u have been through this as well but.
