New Delhi: Ibm Japan has joined Automotive Edge Computing Consortium (AECC) recently. The consortium is a non-profit agency comprising cross-industry players working to introduce best practices for future vehicles and computing convergence.
The consortium is currently working to explore the rapidly evolving and significant data and communication needs of billions of vehicles across the world. The consortium’s goal is to find more efficient ways to support the high-volume data and smart services required for distributed computing and network architecture and infrastructure.
The AECC members that are key players in the automotive, high-speed mobile network, edge computing, wireless technology, distributed computing and artificial intelligence domains.
The members share the relevant findings, requirements and technology solutions with standard organisations. The aim of AECC is to encourage the development of connected vehicle best practices.
The consortium’s vision is to create a new era where connected vehicles come with improved safety sustainability and reliability. As part of AECC, IBM Japan will bring expertise in various cloud services’ domains to increase services and infrastructure of connected vehicle ecosystem.
