And even that is not to put it correctly since we, too, are 'animals', a fact we usefully forget. It is only by segregating ourselves into some special form of life that we manage to justify our - on the whole - appalling treatment of our fellow creatures. The fact is, we have the whip hand and we never fail to use it.
