Congress Releases List for Rajasthan Assembly Elections

The Rajasthan Assembly Elections are scheduled to take place in a single phase on November 25. The Congress party presented the initial list of 33 candidates on Saturday.

Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot of Sardarpura and party leader Sachin Pilot of Tonk are the candidates the party has fielded in the first list.

Speaker of the Rajasthan Assembly CP Joshi, a native of Nathdwara, has been fielded with party president Govind Singh Dotasara, a native of Lachhmangarh.

The ministers for women and child welfare and child empowerment in Rajasthan are Mamta Bhupesh from Sikar, Tikaram Jully from Alwar Rural, and Ashok Chandna from Hindoli, who oversees sports, youth affairs, and employment.

Mahendra Jeet Singh Malviya, the minister of water resources for Rajasthan, was appointed from Bagidora.

Congress Fields Prominent Candidates in Key Rajasthan Constituencies

Amit Chachan, the general secretary of the Rajasthan Congress Committee, was nominated from Nohar, while Bhanwar Singh Bhati, the state’s minister of electricity, was chosen from Kolayat.

Several incumbent MLAs from seats won in the 2018 assembly elections have been fielded by Congress. Mukesh Bhakar from Landun, Manisha Pawar from Jodhpur, Dr. Archana Sharma from Malviya Nagar, Manoj Meghwal from Sujangarh, Rita Choudhary from Mandawa, Indraj Singh Gurjar from Virat Nagar, international gold medallist and politician Krishna Poonia from Sadulpur.

Congress Nominates Candidates in Rajasthan Elections

Danish Abrar from Sawai Madhopur, State Secretary of State Congress Committee’s environment wing Pushpendra Bhardwaj from Sanganer, and son of prominent Congress politician Richpal Singh Mirdha were fielded from Degana.

Nine applicants who were female were included in the first list of the 33 members.

In 2018, the Congress secured 100 seats, while the ruling BJP managed to get just 72. Following many days of impasse, the grand old party named Gehlot as the new chief minister, with Sachin Pilot, the state Congress president at the time, serving as his deputy.

The party has frequently seen Gehlot and Pilot engaged in a fierce struggle for dominance.

Rajasthan is one of the five states, alongside Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Telangana, and Mizoram, that will hold decisions. On December 3, the counting is booked to occur.
