My name is Junwei, I’m the co-founder of Jadeite Vegetarian

It’s been 3 months since we started Jadeite Vegetarian. We would like to take this opportunity to thank all relatives, friends and customers who have been very supportive all this while. We appreciate your feedback and your help in spreading the news about us!

Jadeite Vegetarian is a Family Business. A Vegetarian Bistro started by 4 family members:

It all started because the timing was right…

My Elder Sis (Kinki – Founder of Jadeite Vegetarian – Standing Person on the Left in the Picture) has always dreamed to start a business on her own. She’s passionate about F&B business in Singapore and this motivated her to work for a F&B distribution company for several years before getting into this venture. Coincidentally, she got to know of a rental space in Bugis Cube where there isn’t many pure Vegetarian options in the vicinity. This sparked her and she went on to share about this business opportunity to her own family.

As for me (Standing Person on the Right in the Picture), I just graduated from National University of Singapore, School of Computing, Majoring in E-Commerce. Unlike most graduates, I dream of working on my own as well and reckon sitting behind an office desk from 9 to 5 wasn’t for me. So when my sis shared the business idea with me, I gave my full support. What’s more, Jadeite Vegetarian also serves as a platform for me to apply the IT and Marketing skills that I have learnt in school. I have nothing to lose but everything to gain

Dad (Seated Person on the Left in the Picture) used to be a cook at Swee Yong Vegetarian located at Chong Pang Hawker Centre, Yishun. He loves cooking and is passionate about it. Customers’ smiles and praises are his greatest motivation Jadeite Vegetarian is the perfect place for him to continue doing what he loves.

Mum (Seated Person on the Right in the Picture) values family relationship and the affinity with all beings. She was the one who encouraged our family to pursue Vegetarianism. Without her, my family would not have pursued Vegetarianism and Jadeite Vegetarian would not have started. Promoting Vegetarianism is part of her dream and opening a Vegetarian Restaurant is yet another way to let more people try Vegetarian food.

No bold Mission. Just do it.

Jadeite Vegetarian did not start off with fancy bold Mission or Vision. But we understood that we were well-equipped with the resource and necessary skills and our unified aim was to bring great Vegetarian food to people, while making it a profitable business for the family.

After two and a half months of operations, we realise we truly enjoy what we are doing! What motivates us the most is seeing the bright faces of customers each time they finish their food and leave Jadeite Vegetarian happily. We are glad that we have ability to provide convenience to them, especially to the Vegetarian and Vegan customers who are working around Bugis area

What’s Next?

Continue providing awesome lunch and dinner to both new and existing customers is first on our list!

Promote Vegetarianism. There are lots of ways to do this, not just serving delicious meals. We hope to conduct Vegetarian cooking classes for the public in the future. We also plan to launch an online E-Shop to share and sell some of the raw ingredients that we have been using for our dishes. They are healthy, tasty and easy to prepare. Customers can simply buy online and collect from our physical outlet. We aim to bring convenience to all customers and encourage them to go Vegetarian!

Lastly, we aim to be an informative resource for everyone. Whether you are looking for information and topics about vegetarianism, or recipes or cooking ideas, we hope our website will be one of the top site you will visit! We wish to contribute to Vegetarianism by the Jadeite Vegetarian way!

We know we still have a long way to go. But we are excited to embark on this journey and we hope you can be a part of it too! Do continue to support us in this meaningful journey.
