So, when I tested this out for the first time, I did so with the intent to make sure that I was in a position of needing electrolyte replacement. I mean, what is the point in testing it, if you are just going to squirt it in some water while sitting in the office?

I headed out for a 2.5 mile hike, that was rated moderate-strenuous over the Memorial Day weekend in the Texas hot as balls and humid sun. The trail was only shaded about 25% of the way, so I was under the cloudless sky with the sun blazing down upon me for most of the way.

I purposely did not eat any jerky or nuts (this is what I typically will eat as I hike to replace sodium and other nutrients I am sweating out).

5 minutes into the hike and I was already completely drenched in sweat. During my 2.5 mile hike, I downed 2L of water! Yes, it was that hot and humid! I had to actually stop and rest twice!

Once we got back to my truck, I grabbed my 1L water bottle, the EnduroPacks Liquid Electrolytes and started recording. I wanted to make sure that you could see my facial expression as I tasted it for the first time. I had no idea if it would even have a taste. Smell: My first impression was that my water had a very small hint of lemon smell to it. After looking at the bottle of the EnduroPacks Liquid Electrolytes I realized one ingredient was natural lemon, lol.

Taste: For the most part the taste of the water was unaltered. It tastes just like water. There was a very faint hint of lemon taste to it, but it was extremely faint.

Overall: I felt, for me at least, that it worked very well. I did not have a headache (which I most definitely would have gotten had I not tried to replace what was lost) after the hike or later that night. I felt no signs of dehydration or electrolyte imbalance. I plan on actually switching to this over what I had been using due to the fact it doesn’t alter the taste of the water, except ever so slightly.
