Julie Bowen Luetkemeyer was (born on March 3, 1970), in Baltimore, Maryland, to father John Alexander and mother Suzanne Frey. She was raised in a well-settled Protestant family; her dad worked as a commercial Real Estate Developer.

Julie grew up with her older sister, Molly Luetkemeyer, and her younger sister, Annie Luetkemeyer. Her sisters are successful in their careers; her sister Molly is an interior designer in L.A., while Annie is a Doctor in San Francisco.

After finishing her initial years of studies at Calvert School in Baltimore, Julie attended Garrison Forest School and Roland Park Country School in Maryland. She graduated from St. George’s School and later enrolled at Brown University, majoring in Italian Renaissance.

Actress Julie Bowen made her acting debut by appearing as Steffy in an episode of the A.B.C. soap opera, “Loving” in 1992. The following year, she had guest roles in more than three television projects: Lifestories: Families in Crisis, Class of ’96, and Acapulco H.E.A.T.

In 1994, Julie earned a lead role in the T.V. movie “Runaway Daughters”. Despite her T.V. roles, Julie debuted in the 1992 independent film, “Five Spot Jewel.” Then, in 1996, she became a prominent title character in the sports comedy film “Happy Gilmore.”

Next year, she was cast as Amy Finch in the horror film An American Werewolf in Paris, which earned her recognition. Along with films, she continued to star in hit T.V. series, including Party of Five (1996), Dawson’s Creek (1999), and E.R. (1998–1999).

Julie Bowen had a big break when she landed a recurring role as Carol Vessey in the comedy-drama series Ed. She starred as a high school English teacher in “Ed” from 2000 to 2004.

Julie’s next role was even bigger, as Sarah Shephard in Lost between 2005 and 2008. In the meantime, she appeared in several other TV shows, such as Boston Legal and Weeds.
