We shall overcome one day. Nosotros venceremos

It has been moving. Today we went to a small village lost in the middle of the tea plantations called Kalachora 9. There the Shishu Mongol was being celebrated, the children's party. Directed by a handful of teachers who only count on their great good will, the kids have drawn, sung, danced, recited poetry. Those who did best received as a prize a glass or a plastic plate (that’s what the economic possibilities of the area allow). At the end of the party we have taken the picture you see above. And when we were taking the picture, one of the teachers has started singing "Amra Kori Joy", the Bangla version of the famous "We Shall Overcome". Immediately all the children joined singing together. We shall Overcome, one day. I cannot hide that I have been moved and it has been difficult for me to stifle a tear. One hundred children dispossessed, marginalized, isolated, relegated, singing with their teachers that they will win, that they will come out of the unworthy situation in which life has put them. One day they will win. Then, at night, during the prayer, in the silence of the chapel, I have sung it to myself. And I felt once again the call of God to help with my little grain of sand that they can really get out, that they can really overcome ... one day.
We shall overcome, one day.
