Lil Jon to perform at halftime of Lions vs. Patriots

It’s undeniably better than Maroon 5.

It’s not exactly Toto playing the Thanksgiving Halftime show, but the Detroit Lions announced today that Grammy-winning rapper Lil Jon will perform at halftime of Sunday night’s game against the New England Patriots.

You may know Lil Jon from the songs “Turn Down for What,” “Yeah,” “Get Crunk,” or adding exclamations to just about every rap song from 2002-2005. For me, I don’t remember Lil Jon as much as I do Dave Chappelle’s impression of him:

This comes after local rapper Eminem was an honorary captain for the Lions’ season opener on “Monday Night Football.” Hopefully, Lil Jon can provide the Lions with a little more luck than they had against the New York Jets.

Coincidentally, the Lions’ announcement came on the same day that the Super Bowl halftime performer was leaked for Super Bowl LIII. Maroon 5 will be the halftime entertainment down at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, much to the excitement of nobody.
