D+K’s Sweet Last-Minute DIY Backyard Wedding in Arizona

A long-distance Wedding for iJett Photography in Arizona- a beautiful drive west on the 8 to Yuma through Alpine and some scenic mountains and desert landscape- Yes please! I met the bride and groom for the first time a few hours before their wedding, but I felt like I had known them for years by the end of the day.  No wonder they were able to round up so many close friends to help with every aspect of their Do-it-yourself Backyard Wedding- they are total sweethearts!  With a little (okay, maybe a lot!) of help and hard work, they successfully made their wedding look like a professional, months-to-plan event.  The bride wore a simple, form-fitting vintage gown with an open draped back, and made her own bouquet of black calla lilies.  Apparently, the florist had fallen through at the last minute, so this bride-to-be put all of the flowers together herself the night before and was still working when I arrived, arranging the centerpieces for the reception tables.  I for one was impressed.

I couldn’t get over the bride’s striking blue eyes- I have done nothing to sharpen or lighten them in the photos, it’s all natural!

Their sweet first-look in the garden just before the guests arrived..

The ceremony site with bride’s florals and rented white folding chairs.  As this was Arizona, the sun was doing its thing, but the bride and groom didn’t complain one bit.

These two had fun with every moment!  We even had an impromptu toast in the bride’s dressing room immediately after the ceremony.  All ready for the reception, just a few convenient steps to the Backyard..
