RHS Chelsea: the year of the lupin

Tags: garden lupin

I’m back from an afternoon at Chelsea.  My overall impression from the show gardens is this year is generally a subdued colour palette, mostly whites through to mauve and almost every Garden had lupins.  Quite how this many lupins (aka mollusc caviar) have escaped their slimy jaws is a miracle.  Here’s the evidence.

My favourite garden was Silent Pool; sculptures, calm water and gin – what’s not to love! Also not one single lupin!

I thought the sculpture in the Myeloma garden was stunning and the story behind it very sad.

This trade stand demonstrates what’s possible when you have enough driftwood and an imagination and sense of humour to match.

I’m definitely growing this dahlia next year.

and to put it all back into its proper perspective, I spotted this quote.
