Wishing you could Run the Race for them

Everyone who is, or has ever been a part of the track and Field community knows this feeling: wanting to run a Race for someone but knowing all you can do is provide moral support. Watching, powerlessly from the sideline is one of the hardest feelings for any parent, coach, or fellow teammate. You always wish that you could take one of your loved one's pain, their struggle, their heartbreak. However, we all must understand one simple rule when we begin to feel these emotions: diversity and struggle is what makes you strong. When you are forced to go through the rough times, it makes the good races that must sweeter. The good races will come. That is why you must always remember, although you may want to run the race for someone you love, its not about any single race. Track and field is a marathon. You can provide support, but everyone must run it by themselves.
