Chicken Do Pyaza

Chicken Do Pyaza is a traditional Indian classic recipe that is relished with rotis or naan mostly. This dish is spicy and mouth-watering. ‘Do’ means two and “pyaz’ means onions. Hence it is evident from the name of the Chicken recipe itself that it contains double the amount of onions in comparison to ordinary chicken curries. Try this dish and enjoy this spicy chicken curry.

INGREDIENTS
  • 250gm Chicken breast (cubed)
  • 1 big Onion (paste)
  • 3 big Onion (dice cut)
  • 1 big Tomato puree
  • 2 tsp Green chilies paste
  • 3 tsp Ginger and Garlic Paste
  • 1 tsp Dhaniya (Coriander powder)
  • ½ tsp Jira (Cumin Powder)
  • 2 tsp Garam Masala (roasted powder)
  • 100 gm Natural Yogurt
  • 1 Bay Leave

TIME REQUIRED : Less than 40 minutes

PROCEDURE

STEP 1

Marinate the chicken with 1½ tsp Ginger and Garlic paste and 2 Tsp Green Chilies paste for 2 hours in refrigerator.

STEP 2

For making the Garam Masala roast the (2 Cloves, 2 Cardamom, 1 tsp coriander seeds, 1 tsp Cumin seeds, 1 inch Cinnamon stick, 6 to 8 Black Pepper and ½ tsp Final seeds) masala and grind them.

STEP 3

Heat oil and add the bay leaves and Onion paste fry till golden brown.

STEP 4

Add the garlic and ginger paste and tomato puree. Then sauté for few minutes.

STEP 5

Add the chicken and sauté for few minutes

STEP 6

Add Turmeric powder, red Chili powder, Dhaniya powder, Jira powder, sugar and salt. Cook the whole thing till it separates the oil.

STEP 7

Add the dice cut onions and sauté for few minutes. Now, add yogurt and stir well for few seconds.

STEP 8

Add Garam Masala and Cover the pan and cook in mild flame until chicken is cooked and the gravy to get thick. Now ‘Chicken Do Pyaza’ is ready to serve.
