ON YOUR HEALTH AND WELLNESS

Hello and Good Morning.  This is Dr. Rob Kiltz. How are you doing?  Your health is critical to my life.  I’m a physician—a reproductive endocrinologist—and I went into medicine in order to help heal.  What I’ve learned over the last 30 years of my medical career is that, in general, the recommendations of the health industry, the food industry, the farming industry, the pharmaceutical industry, are actually opposite of health and wellness. I know this is hard to believe.

Moving more, creating more friction and heat, putting more food in your body and greater variety, and putting alcohol in your body are all bad! The evidence is clear. There is no evidence that eating fat makes you unhealthy, but we have been given the recommendation to eat lots of variety of fruits and vegetables, to eat lean meats and eat no fat, to exercise, and despite the evidence of increased used of drugs, more disease, these recommendations continue to be made.

We are suffering.  The cost of healthcare is on the rise.  The cost of our pain, our suffering, and our diseases has caused me to re-evaluate our recommendations. My firsthand experience with my beautiful sister Maria—a diabetic from the age of 4—died at 52 from heart failure.  She was blind and had multiple diabetic complications along with multiple medications that related to the incorrect advice of the healthcare industry.

Now, I’ve been making these same recommendations forever because I didn’t think the Standard American Diet could be harmful.  I thought somehow our genetics were the real predisposing factor, but in fact our genetics are almost identical for all of us.  Fat and cholesterol are the backbone of our bodies.  The material that makes up the majority of our cells and cell wall.  We do not dissolve in water because we are made of fat. Cholesterol builds our hormones and is critical for a nuclear envelope and the borders around DNA and most cellular structures.  We are a fat-making machine. We are a fat-burning machine, and fat is the energy of our bodies. This is the simple answer.

The energy we require is miniscule in the day.  The key is to calm the mind. Drive and direct the mind to exactly where and what you want in life.  Look around at nature and you will see that the lean, strong lion does not exercise, eats no fruits, fiber or vegetables, and doesn’t have a lot of variety in its diet. I know this seems crazy and I didn’t believe it.  It is the opposite of everything I’ve ever believed or conceived, and now I have been practicing this for nearly 10 years.

We label these practices as incorrect, hooky, unsubstantiated by the evidence, but in fact, drug companies and manufacturers of food products all “super-market” their ideas to make it super simple. The concepts and ideas – variety is the spice of life; eat lots of roughage, put lots of steel wool into your belly and gut and see what happens.  The ideas and the evidence, in my opinion, are incorrect.  We can change it. You can change it.  Those extra supplements and smoothies, extra drugs, that extra workout, these might be the things that leads to the bump, the break, the incorrect.

I know this mostly doesn’t make sense.  It works, in many ways, opposite. The blood flow is already going on. The more sugar we add to our bodies in the form of fruits, fibers, vegetables, and lean meats damages the microvascular environment, reduces oxygen, and reduces the normal function of your cell and your body.  It stimulates the immune system–the inflammatory system–to come to the rescue of the damage and it creates more damage.  Our body reacts to the extensive plant and microorganisms—the antigens-which create the immune response:  the itching, redness, swelling, disorder, disease, and ultimately death.

Our entire body is already amazing.  It requires a lot less than you have been giving it. Go slow.  Visualize your health and wellness in a new and different way. We are lions and Ferraris. Your body is made up of fat, and without fat we would be dead.  The liver has one function, and that is to convert all protein, all amino acids, all carbohydrates, and all sugar into fat.  Without the ability to do that, we would be dead.  Your body carries the energy it requires. It does not require it to consume glucose or sugar EVER.  Minerals and vitamins come with the meat and fat.  Bacon, eggs, butter, beef.  I’m sharing this story often thought to be a broken record.  We are always looking for new evidence, new ideas, some new pill, some new this or that, but in fact, it’s not required. It’s NOT required!

You and I already have all of the plans needed. The DNA for each of us is already built in and it’s amazing. We’re more valuable and expensive than a Ferrari—the expensive foreign sportscar.  We have it and we damage it every day with the food we put into our bodies. We should be very narrow with our placement of products into our bodies.

We require a lot of oxygen, not much water, and less food. My recommendation is one meal a day, and not in an 8-hour time frame.  Sit down and be patient over one hour at night before you go to bed to rest and digest. Allow the blood flow of the bowels to do what it needs to do.

We are an amazing machine, an amazing energy and idea, the creation of God.  We are very creative with an amazing, creative nature. Look what we have built in this world!  The universe is conspiring in your favor every day. Be patient with what is going on in your life.  Be patient.  If you’re hurting, look toward the food you eat first.  Look toward fasting, where you don’t eat for 12, 24, or more hours. I recommend the daily feast at night, once a day. I call it intermittent feasting.  Feasting and mostly fasting.  Not just breaking the fast in the morning because you didn’t eat at night.  You are digesting at night, and blood glucose is being secreted into your blood stream all night and all day if you’re eating a Standard American Diet of fruits, fiber, vegetables, cereal, pasta, rice, bread, yogurt, milk, and sugar.

Remember, sugar is not a requirement to be consumed. Your body makes glucose. Exactly what glucose does, we’re not sure.  You and I will die if we don’t have fat and make fat.  Anorexia kills.  Obesity slowly kills, but it’s not the fat that’s killing us.  It’s the sugar we’re consuming.  It’s the carbs.  The carbs are the deadly component. Atkins and many others have shared this idea long ago. Gary Taubes in Good Calories, Bad Calories, Why We Get Fat, and The Case Against Sugar simply explained it all.  In Wheatbelly and Grain Brain by William Davis and David Pearlmutter, they started the guide and direction, and I believe it didn’t go far enough.  We are allergic to somethings, and actually we’re allergic to many things.  Those allergies create the inflammation first in the GI tract. It starts with the lips, the tongue, the mouth, and beyond.  It causes the inflammation which ultimately causes the diseases:  cancer, hypertension, diabetes, stroke, heart disease, arthritis, infertility, you name it, we can go down the list. It’s likely related to an incorrect diet. We’re dying from “it”—the healthy foods we’ve been guided and directed to.

Your body is the most valuable, expensive, irreplaceable entity.  We willy nilly stop at every market, every quick stop, carry around potions, packages, seeds and nuts.  We use a man-made concoction of plant oils that we’ve been convinced are healthy for us.  Real fat is bad. Remember, fat is the fuel of your body. It’s the building block of your body.  We need fat and a little bit of protein, a moderate amount of water, and a lot of oxygen/air.  Air flow to bring in the oxygen and exchange and send out the carbon dioxide.

As a physician, I’ve been seeking answers and practicing treating disease. When I learned about the ketogenic diet, the paleo diet, the this diet, the that diet, what’s the right one?  We like variety, I know. But variety in our intimate relationships is not healthy.  If you’re working to be good at anything, you’ve got to focus on one thing. If you’re focusing on ten things, you don’t get good at any one of them. Narrow as an arrow hits the target every time. Continue to focus on what you do really well.  If you’re not doing it well, but you want to, focus on that.  It’s a compounding life. A penny a day will reap exponential benefits.  Give it up and send it to the Great Creator of life—we call that God, Universe, Nature, or whatever you choose to call it. Within your brain is the creative nature of the universe. You are the driver, the director, the actor, the writer . . .YOU!

Everyday begin the day “Thank you God for this day. How grateful I am for they way.”  For life is an abundant and creative act.  Whether you’re building furniture, cars, planes, or sharing ideas, writing books, poetry, and music. Or you’re helping keep the environment clean, neat, and orderly. It’s exciting!  This is our lives, right?

Energy and electricity excite molecules and gets us moving this and every day.  Habit are changed with experience. To practice every single day a new way is much easier than you or I ever imagined, thought, or new. God and the universe are on your side.

Remember, we’re just a vibrating particle in the universe.  We move from a small, microscopic electro-molecular particle to a human being through an amazing maze of creative energy of the universe. This is what’s amazing!  We’re learning every day—all of us together.  Even though at times it seems like we are fighting and pushing hard, we are actually doing it more together now than ever before.

Begin the day “Thank you God for the day. Breath and smile.”  A glass of water, a cup of tea, a cup of coffee—a little bit each day is okay.  Diluting the body with more and more water is likely also not good for us.  We were not made to carry a plastic water bottle around all of the time. We were likely built for so much less water. The rest of the world in general lives, thrives, and survives with so much less water.

Healing thy body, begins in thy mind.  Your mind and all minds are created equally.  It doesn’t matter the size, shape, color, or origin.  We are human Ferraris. We are lions, and we’re built for creative, loving, kind, generous, selfish, judgmental . .  we’re built for all of it.  But what we practice is to learn something new and different so that your body and your mind can listen to new ideas and learn new ways.

What I’m telling you is something that I did not believe.  I call it an opposite.  Our brains believe one thing and yet something opposite is true.  We do not start by burning glucose and convert to fat. We are a fat burning and fat making machine. That is 100% our nature.

Go slow this day. Listen, read, write, share, smile, show kindness, generosity, and remember we are all here together to learn to help in a new way. There’s lots of “super-marketing” and lots of super ideas.  Remember:  “The Obstacle is the Way” (Ryan Holiday).

There are infinite books to read and ideas of how to create. It is really within each and every one of us. The creative nature and idea of the universe is with you this day.  If you’re hurting, injured, or in pain, that’s the push of the universe to seek new and different. The path in.  When we give it up, we’re giving it to a higher power. It’s really simple. It’s creative, crazy, interesting, fun, and generous.
