Things parents don’t understand..

So I’m in my last year of GCSEs and my exams that determine my future around about 9 weeks. This means a lot of school work, a lot of revision and a lot of stress.

But.

My parents seem to think that the completion of my daily Chores list is more important that the completion of my school assignments and revision. Yeah I disagree. Of course small things like washing dishes or sorting a load of washing out is a completely manageable thing to do. However, doing all the dishes, hanging 2 loads of washing and washing 2 loads, sorting out the cupboards, tidying your room and organising the living room draws before finishing 4 homeworks and revising for 2 tests seems a tad impossible.

I try to explain this to them and they’re either just not listening or they don’t understand. Neither of my parents had to do chores when they were my age. Well they didn’t have to do chores full stop. And they still don’t do them now. I think they’re being a little bit unconsiderate I’d understand if its after ny exams or I’m at college. But I’m not. Well I’m not yet. All I’m asking is for them to get off my back and give me less chores until after my exams. It’s only 9 weeks.

Besides I have 2 brothers and a sister who’s homework schedule is about as concerning as stubbed toe. They have it easy, they don’t know what stress is until they do their gcses.

My future is incredibly important to me. Especially in subjects I need like art and English. I can do art. English not so much. And now English is 10x harder. Why would you do that. Seriously I have to memorize over 20 quotes per exam. That around 10 for each part of the exam. My brain can’t cope with that and memorising formulas for maths, chemistry and biology, and memorising facts and case studies for geography and history. Philosophy isn’t as difficult I just need to remember chirstian and Hindu beliefs and environmental law. No big deal..
