How much did Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding cost?

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding is possibly one of the top ten most expensive weddings of all time.
This would put the cost of their big day ahead of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s wedding in 2011 which was estimated at £20 million.
The experts at the company Bridebook say the bulk of the costs were spent on security – with Meghan’s dress, the flowers, food and drinks coming in at nearly a million pounds.
Other costs include the fact that Windsor had to be locked down for the day, with a heavy police presence put in place, as well as crowd control and restrictions placed on shops and restaurants.

Even though Prince William and Kate Middleton’s wedding was bigger and took place at Westminster Abbey, the security for Harry and Meghan’s wedding cost more due to the ongoing high terrorist threat level.
Royal expert Katie Nicholl thinks that Meghan’s dress cost far less than the one Kate Middleton wore.
