About Bai Hotel Cebu
First off, Bai Hotel is huge! With 600 rooms, it's the largest one in the Vis-Min area. It has 8 dining locations, 1 24-hour coffee shop, 12 event venues, 2 swimming pools, 1 gym, and a partridge in a pear tree.
It's a grand hotel alright. But what makes this hotel top-notch is the service. We were fortunate enough to experience that when we stayed here for the launch of the season 2 of AirAsia's RedTalks.
Owned by Cebu-based group, Bai Global, Bai (a colloquial term for "bro" in Cebuano) Hotel caters to both high-end and mid-range groups.
The 4-star hotel has three types of accommodations: Select Service (deluxe rooms), Full Service (premier rooms), and the bend-the-knee-treat-me-like-a-real-queen Butler Service (Presidential suites and the like).
Here's an example of Bai Hotel's Deluxe Room. The room is equipped with modern-day necessities plus ultra orthopedic mattresses. Appreciate the latter, thank you very much.
The en-suite echoes the minimally-designed bedroom. The hot water went out during our first day, but the hotel's engineer immediately fixed the problem. All's well.

Bai Hotel highlights the Cebuanos' ingenuity (hello, Kenneth Cobonpue!) when it comes to furniture making. Furniture made from rattan are peppered within the vicinity.
I strongly suggest that you stay at this area up until the golden hour. It's magical. Well, that's what I've been told. I missed it because my friends and I went to the Basilica del Santo Niño. I'm a good Catholic girl likeduht.
But seriously. Have a few drinks at the pool bar or just lounge around the area while waiting for that opportune time to take a glowing selfie. No judgment.

This is such an extensive buffet. I get full just by thinking about the amount of food they have here.
I'd be lying if I say that there were hits and misses here given the fact that I wasn't able to try all.
And that's not for lack of trying. The spirit was willing, but the body simply didn't want to cooperate. Those who are aging knows what I'm talking about. We feel full easily, and it sucks.

Anyway, those that I did try were really good, fortunately.
The seafood selection - regardless of how they're cooked - for one was splendid. I especially liked their baked lapu-lapu and salmon.
I don't think Cebuanos are capable of botching up a lapu-lapu. I mean, there's just too much pride attached to it.

The cooked-to-order pasta section is something to look forward to, as well as the grill station, dessert station, and sushi station.
These are all lunch selections, by the way. The thing that I enjoyed most for breakfast was the famed Chorizo de Cebu and the dried seafood section complete with various kinds of sawsawan! I went crazy over the danggit with steamed okra and bagoong.
AirAsia's RedTalks
I initially thought that RedTalks was just another travel show - a way to showcase the countries that AirAsia flies to. Wrong.
The series of travel webisodes - hosted by Daphne Oseña-Paez - not only highlights fun subjects, but more importantly, they tackle issues that are ignored or talked about in hushed tones.
I'm talking about human trafficking. It's the most powerful and important RedTalks episode for me.
With an exceptional woman at the helm, it comes as no surprise that the issue is being addressed, and eventually rectified.

Ms. Maan Hontiveros has been championing causes for as long as I can remember. She's a revolutionary trailblazer who deserves a teardrop tattoo no less. Yes, she's that kind of a badass.
AirAsia's Foundation Director, Mun Ching, gave us an insight into the complex subject and why they are eager to provide a cure to this social pandemic.
Human trafficking is on the rise, and most of the victims are trafficked by plane according to Ms. Ching. In response, AirAsia is widening its training scheme to help airline personnel better recognize possible signs of human trafficking.
AirAsia is very serious in preventing people from becoming victims. They're working closely with local and international governmental and private agencies.
