Christmas At Alton Towers

Recently, myself and Tom were invited to my work Christmas party which this year, was held at Alton Towers in Staffordshire. The Christmas themed Hotel was gorgeous and all in all, it was a really great night.

The event was over two days, so myself and Tom arrived on the Friday and the party was on the Friday night. We then stayed until the Saturday and went to the Splash Landings Water Park before heading home. When we arrived at the hotel on the Friday night, I was pretty surprised at how beautiful the hotel was. I wasn't really sure what to expect before arriving at the hotel, but the entire place was just gorgeous.

The front of the hotel was decorated with Christmas trees and fairy lights and it fitted the festive theme perfectly. It made me so excited for what I was going to see when I walked through the door. The only thing I did know before arriving was that the hotel was themed, but I had no idea how. Turns out, the main hotel is based around Sir Algenon Alton and the travels that he went on combined with his wacky inventions.

The hotel was gorgeous and I ended up wondering around for about a hour, just taking in the sights, making the most of the occasion and taking a whole heap of photos. The entire hotel was built around a gorgeous pirate ship with a clock and hot air balloon on top of it - one of Sir Alton's inventions. All of the rooms were themed with the curtains, carpets and posters on the wall, all being themed around the travels.

The hotel was gorgeous enough without the festive and Christmas twist. There were a tonne of Christmas trees around and all of them were decorated beautifully and in perfect keeping with the general hotel decor. The event was awesome too - it was food, drinks and dancing and it was a really lovely night. Going to the Waterpark the next day was awesome too, even with my fear of drowning and water, I really tried to embrace it and throw myself into things and make the most of it. The whole weekend was incredible and I would definitely recommend a trip there to anyone who can go, the theme park and waterpark are definitely worth it.
