On being called a chudail and doing black magic on SSR:After SSR’s death, Rhea was called a ‘witch’. She was also accused of doing black magic on him. At the recent event, Rhea said, “I kinda like the name chudail. Back in the day, who was a witch? A witch was a woman who did not subscribe to partriarchal society had her own or had her own opinion which was against the popular opinion of men and patriarchal societies back then. Maybe I am that person. Maybe I am a chudail, maybe I know how to do black magic.”

Adding to that, she spoke about how the society has a patriarchal mindset. The actress said, “It is what it was, and it is what it is in our society. Unfortunately, even today if some man is successful and he gets married and his success ratio drops they will say dekho jab se ye zindagi mein aayi tab se ye iska career kharab ho gaya hai (Look, ever since she ventured into his life, his career has gone haywire). It’s almost like the man had no identity before the woman.”

She added, ” Men in India most definitely do not listen to their wives or girlfriends and if they did it woulve’ been a much better society.” Rhea went on to add that SSR had his own identity and that he came from a small town and made it big in the industry. She added, “There is no black magic in this world, let me clear that.”

On supplying drugs to SSR: Rhea Chakraborty, along with her brother Showik, were accused of supplying drugs to Sushant. When asked about the same, she said, “No, and secondly, I am done with this topic. I don’t want to talk about drugs. And I don’t want to talk about NCB. I don’t want to talk about CBI. Let the agencies do their jobs and let us do our jobs. How about you talk to me about my mental health and how the hell did I get out of that and sit on this chair to talk to you? How about that?

Rhea on her brother Showik being accused of harbouring and financing drugs: Back then, the actress’ brother also faced the wrath of netizens. So, when asked about him, Rhea said, “About harbouring, I have to ask Pablo Escobar. But, I believe he is no longer amongst us. The other stuff, I don’t think it affects anybody else’s life but mine. I have lawyers and we are fighting it in the court of law. We will get a verdict at the right time and I will accept whatever verdict the court gives in this case or in anybody’s case because I am an Indian citizen, why the hell should I not?

So, I refused them at first and when the jailer came and told me mat karo tum, chhod do and I was like haan haan. But then I thought that I am leaving and I am probably never gonna see these women again and if I could give them five minutes of happiness with the dance performance with them, then why the hell not!? And I did. We did the naagin dance on the floor.”

On getting judged: The actress was asked about Bollywood judging her and she said, “Bollywood is also people. Like they are also people and some are nice, some are not. Some people are judgemental, some are empathetic. I, however, experience the kind side of them.
