Recently, Varun Dhawan revealed that the third movie from the Dulhania franchise is in the works, and soon we will be able to see him on-screen with Alia Bhatt.

During an interview with Pinkvilla, Varun, alongside co-star Janhvi Kapoor and director Nitesh Tiwari, discussed the film Bawaal. A fan from the audience inquired about the possibility of another film with Alia Bhatt. Revealing about the third installment, he said, “I feel that’s something that we have all discussed as a team a lot; we definitely want to do it. At the same time, we want to get something that is going to be damn good to make sure that all of you also are very excited to see that. So, there is work that keeps happening on it. Shashank is on it, he is trying to crack a script that will be good enough for mine and her comeback. It’s a work in progress and we would love to work with each other again, we have spoken about it.”

The movie Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania, released in 2014, is a romantic comedy-drama. On the other hand, Badrinath Ki Dulhania, released in 2017, falls in the same genre. Both movies are directed by Shashank Khaitan.
Varun and Alia’s on-screen chemistry has always been a delight to watch, and it’s no doubt that their fans are eagerly looking forward to their reunion. Let’s hope for the official announcement soon.

On the work front, Varun will be next seen in Citadel India alongside Samantha Ruth Prabhu. Meanwhile, Alia Bhatt is gearing up for her Hollywood debut with Netflix’s Heart Of Stone. The movie also stars Gal Gadot and Jamie Dornan in the lead roles. The movie will be releasing on 11 August 2023.
