Ranveer Singh starrer Jayeshbhai Jordaar hit the theatres on May 13. Given the hype and the promotions, the social comedy failed to live up to the expectations at the box-office. The movie opened with low numbers on Day 1. Trade analysts had predicted that Jayeshbhai Jordaar would earn somewhere around Rs 5-6 crore on its first day, but it didn't performed as expected.

Trade analyst Ramesh Bala, took to Twitter and confirmed the update of the opening day. "Early estimates for #JayeshbhaiJordaar All-India Nett is ₹ 3 Crs.. For Day 1..", he wrote. The film reportedly didn't see occupancy in cinema halls in the morning and afternoon shows.

The movie has received mostly positive reviews from critics specially Ranveer's performance has been lauded. Directed by Divyang Thakkar and produced by Yash Raj Films, it also starred Shalini Pandey, Boman Irani, and Ratna Pathak Shah in pivotal roles.
