Tiana's Palace at Disneyland opened in September and has been drawing in the crowds to check out what this New Orleans princess has to offer. The restaurant offers up favorites like house gumbo and shrimp and grits, and of course Tiana's famous beignets. This is a quick service restaurant in New Orleans Square offering Mobile Order and walk ups as well.
We found Mobile Order times to be snatched up quickly in the morning, so plan ahead if this is a must-do for you! We ordered around 8am as we were getting ready for our day and the earliest time available was after 4pm, However, when we arrived we found no wait for walk up dining, but tables were very hard to come by.
We decided to try a little of everything, and as the menu states, eat dessert first! We found a table while our Mobile Order was being prepared and then went to pick it up at the outside window. Everything was packed in to-go containers which was surprising, no plates for us!
We tried out the beignet which was filled with a lemon sauce and found it extremely sweet, we couldn't even finish it between our group. The savory selections were much more to our liking, with the house gumbo being the favorite and the chicken being a great choice for those who would like to be a bit less adventurous or who have a big appetite. It still had a lot of flavor, but was more familiar. We also found the gumbo to be a solid portion filled with lots of chunks of meat.

The muffuletta was a bit on the briny side which could be off-putting for some, and we found the shrimp to be good but the grits to be bland. I wouldn't be ordering these again, but they might be just right for other diners!
Live music plays from time to time on the stage and Tiana floats around to make sure everyone is enjoying their meal, but it is not a character meal and it's unlikely she'll actually stop by your table.
Disneyland's classic
Mint Julep Bar is still here as well, serving up delightful drinks and the cutest Mickey shaped beignets. It is in the same building but a separate ordering area. The beignets come in a three or six pack and are the classic powdered sugar variety. I preferred these to Tiana's stuffed ones honestly. The mint julep was light and refreshing, a perfect beverage for a warm California day.
