Many moons ago, when we were just The Two Travellers, we travelled to Copenhagen and had a memorable stay at Hotel Avenue, snacking at Manfred’s and getting our Danish chic on.
Returning five years on, now with a little one in tow, we stayed at sister hotel SP34, located in the Latin quarter of Copenhagen.
A perfect mix of fun and cool, it felt like a place parents might want to stay with their kids if they wanted to feel (pretend) they were still footloose and fancy-free.
The impeccable Danish decor throughout, the friendly bar at the entrance, the inviting log fire snug and even the on-site gym and cinema all provide an easy stay for all members of the family who need it all a little more at arm’s reach.
Equally the food on offer is excellent and we enjoyed (more than one) unbeatable burger at the cheeky Cocks&Cows downstairs, and even a leisurely Nordic Dining lunch in the garden-themed Vakst restaurant while the squirt was asleep in pram. Win!
We were there in minus ten degrees, so if (unlike us), you wanted to roam a bit further there’s a load of great coffee shops in a 10 minute strolling distance where you can hit the main shopping area, the Tivoli Gardens and the National Museum. Best coffee shop/lunch spot we found was Sonny’s. Not that we were biased on the name or anything.
Address: Sankt Peders Stræde 34, 1453 København K, Denmark
