The Continental Sorrento Intercontinental Mornington Peninsula Hotel

The Continental Sorrento Intercontinental Mornington Peninsula Hotel

This is one of the few restaurants I visited on my recent trip to Mornington Peninsula in Melbourne Australia. This is the The Continental Sorrento at Intercontinental Mornington Peninsula Hotel.

This is a fancy restaurant called Conti Kitchen part of the The Continental Sorrento Intercontinental Mornington Peninsula Hotel. The table was reserved as this is a popular place for dinner among the locals here.

The moment I stepped in, I was like this restaurant looks good. The nicely painted brick walls as well as the ambiance of the interior, this feels very vintage.

We had a large group of us and we ordered quite a lot of food for sharing.

Here are the food we ordered for dinner at The Continental Sorrento Intercontinental Mornington Peninsula Hotel.

Fresh shucked oysters

Hummus & House marinated Olives with fresh baked garlic flat bread

Beef Tataki with sesame and soy marinated, garden greens, daikon salad, wasabi mayo and furikake.

Southern Fried Chicken Wings with sambal and fried curry leaf

Fried House Spiced Calamari with yuzu mayonnaise and lemon

Chicken Parmigiana with Roma tomato sauce, ham, cheese, garden greens and bistro fries

Craft Beer battered Lakes Entrance Rockling with garden greens, bistro fries, tartare, lemon

Pure Black Angus served with garden greens, bistro fries and an accompaniment

The food here is pretty decent and there are some hits and misses here.

What I love are the fresh oysters, Chicken Parmigiana and Fried House Calamari. The oysters are really tasty while the chicken parmigiana taste is spot on.

The beef steak was sadly overcooked. I remember ordering for medium rare and it turns out to medium missing the pink.

The people here are super friendly but food serving can be slow. There are rooms for improvements for sure.

Craft Beer battered Lakes Entrance Rockling – Crispy batter with good texture

Overall, the Continental Sorrento Intercontinental Mornington Peninsula Hotel offers decent food, comfortable place for dining and chill out.
