Mun Wah Hokkien Mee at Jalan Mahajarela

The last time we blogged about this place is in 2014 and we decided to revisit this famous Mun Wah Hokkien Mee at Jalan Mahajarela, Mun Wah Hokkien Mee at Jalan Mahajarela has been around since 1960s and they have been selling the famous Hokkien noodles for 60 years.

We went there yesterday and the restaurant was busy as usual. It was a Friday night and hence probably everyone busy going out partying instead of having Hokkien mee for dinner.

Mun Wah Hokkien Mee is located at 155 Jalan Mahajarela, Kuala Lumpur and it is same row with the famous French Café Café restaurant and Petron Petrol Station.

We managed to find a parking nearby before ordered the Hokkien Mee and fried dumpling. Usually the parking here are packed and hence we were lucky yesterday.

We sat outdoor as it is more cooling and it took them less than 5 minutes to get the food out.

The Hokkien mee comes in generous portion and you know this is going to be good with its presentation. The taste is savoury and almost every bite you can taste the crispy pork lard. What we love about this place is it comes with generous portion of pork liver.

The taste of the Hokkien mee is full of flavour and enough of ‘wok hei’ for us to finish that huge plate of noodles.

On top of that, we also ordered the fried dumpling that comes with the spicy chili sauce. The fried dumpling is crispy and tasty and it complements well with the acidic spicy chili sauce.

There is other food available such as mantis prawn, deep fried fuchuk, deep fried calamari rings and deep fried fish cakes but we might try that another day.

Mun Wah Hokkien Mee at Jalan Mahajarela still maintains the quality and taste of their food after so many years. We won’t mind coming back again.
