The 21c Museum Hotels concept is the brainchild of founders Laura Lee Brown and Steve Wilson. Their story began at the 21c flagship location in Louiseville, Kentucky. Of note, it is now the headquarters of the 21c Museum Hotels.

The building that now houses the 21c Museum Hotel was formerly a Ford Motor Company assembly plant designed by Albert Kahn. Years later, the renowned architect group Deborah Berke Partners completely transformed the building into the hotel and contemporary art museum it is now.

First Impressions of 21C Museum Hotel OKC
We embarked on our weekend getaway from Dallas to the great state of Oklahoma on a rainy Friday afternoon. Gloomy weather notwithstanding, we were eager to immerse ourselves in a new environment and check another state off our visit list. The scenic route road trip took approximately 3 hours, but it seemed like time went by at supersonic speed. Faster than the speed of light, we arrived in the “Sooner State!”
From the moment that we walked into the hotel building, we were truly impressed by the unique fusion of restored historic features with contemporary influences. Beautifully arranged throughout the property were contemporary art installations and exhibitions. Additionally, we enjoyed a pleasant dose of eye-catching furnishings and finishings scattered throughout the property.
Our Suite
The Luxury Loft 1.5 Bedroom Suite that we stayed in was reminiscent of a New York City SoHo loft apartment. It was ever so perfectly designed to be a comfortable respite. Our home for the weekend had a large living area with high ceilings and large steel windows, allowing an abundance of natural light into the space. We were sold on it!
The main bedroom had a plush king bed that was the perfect setup for a good night’s rest. Additionally, there was a smaller room in the suite that could be used as a bedroom. Alternatively, it was a great spot to curl up with a good book while sipping on hot coffee from the suite’s Nespresso coffee machine.
In the continued spirit of relaxation and rejuvenation, the suite’s bathroom was certainly a fan favorite. Everything from the Malin+ Goetz bath amenities to the luxurious spa-like vibe was a win in our books. Running a warm bath and immersing oneself in the French tub was a great way to unwind.
We were drawn to the beautifully curated decor in the suite. Much like the art displayed throughout the property, the pieces within the suite were equally a sight for sore eyes! They added character to the overall ambiance of the suite.

We were pleased to learn that the hotel has an on-site restaurant- Mary Eddy’s Kitchen X Lounge. The restaurant is open daily for breakfast, lunch, dinner, late-night, and weekend brunch. Executive chef Jeff Patton is the culinary creativity genius behind the delicious and unexpected flavors on offer.
We enjoyed a multi-course dinner that was a unique spin on New American cuisine. Our palates had a penchant for all the delectable menu options. We consumed each mouthwatering dish faster than the speed of light!
