Bright, Beautiful & Boozy: The Tastiest Summer Cocktails in Guadalajara

Sip your way through some of the Guadalajar’s most celebrated drinks this Summer. Guadalajara is a city where you can find the best tequilas and agave distillates in all the country. That’s why if you’re looking for refreshing, fun and local cocktails, you’ve come to the right place. Get to sipping this summer with a few of our favorite bright and boozy cocktails that can be found throughout the city. THE ‘EL PACHECO SWIZZLE” FROM EL GALLO ALTANERO At El Gallo Altanero you can find the “Pacheco Swizzle”, inspired by the classic “Queen’s Park Swizzle” Cocktail, but with a house twist. They made this cocktail in honor of the Pacheco family, the family who made the “Charanda Uruapan” (a cane distillate) which is included in the cocktail. A fresh, citrusy, and delicious cocktail. Sip your way through a few drinks here and soak in El Gallo Altanero’s old school vibes and decorations while tucked away on the rooftop of an old Mexican house. THE “EL AMAR Y EL QUERER” FROM KISSA BAR Kissa Bar is new kid on the block and its main bartender, Braden LaGrone, brings together imagination and dedication to create original cocktails such as the “El amar y el querer”, a combination of Jalisco’s Cascahuín silver tequila, bitter pallini, lemon, and grapefruit. If you’re looking for something fresh and funky to end the summer with, Kissa Bar has you covered. THE “LA NUEVA PIÑA COLADA” FROM MATILDE MI AMOR Matilde Mi Amor is located on the third floor of the mercado México, and it’s the perfect place to relax after a long day and enjoy fresh air and incredible views on their terrace. Request the “La nueva piña colada cocktail”, a new and unique variation of the famous piña colada cocktail, mixed with Kalani’s coconut liqueur, Charanda, home-made syrup, coconut water, whipped coconut cream, and toasted coconut slices. Tropical vibes abound. THE “SABROSO DAMIAN” FROM LA MALDITA SABROSURA With 95% of their products from Mexico, La Maldita Sabrosura is the place to go to if you want a sampling of the best boozy sipping Mexico has to offer. Our favorite is the “sabroso Damian”, which is made with damiana liquor, jamaica syrup, home-made blueberry juice, lemon juice and a slice of grapefruit and lemon. The decoration and ambiance is super hipster/tropical so you can have a drink while you enjoy some of the best cumbia and salsa music in town. Get out and dance a bit! THE “MALVERDE” FROM EL CHAMPION BAR Step into El Champion Bar’s tropical oasis and snag the “Malverde”, a tasty herbal cocktail made with vodka, jagermeister, basic syrup, grapefruit and lemon juice. This boozy cocktail is the perfect pairing for a nice summer afternoon spent with friends.
