Sanjay Gandhi National Park, located on the outskirts of Mumbai, is said to be one of the most visited national parks in the world. The natural settlement draws about 2,000,000 visitors per year. The forested park, previously known as Borivali National Park, is teeming with unusual flora and species. This massive park, which covers more than 100 square kilometers, is home to deer, leopards, hyenas, monkeys, crocodiles, snakes, and a variety of bird species. Marine Drive, often referred to as the ‘Queen’s Necklace,’ is Mumbai’s lifeline. This 3.5-kilometer stretch of C-shaped concrete road stretches along the ocean, creating a natural bay. The promenade is all about gorgeous sea views, long drives, and spectacular sunsets. Marine Drive is also known as the Queen’s Necklace because, when viewed from an elevated point at night, the street lights sparkle like a diamond necklace. With its twinkling skyscrapers, the black Arabian Sea merging into the horizon, and the shimmering Queen’s necklace; Mumbai has a unique appeal at night.

11). Dhobi Ghat

The biggest laundrette in the world, known locally as Dhobi Ghat, is found in Mumbai. Dobhi Ghat is located near the Mahalaxmi railway station and can be easily seen from the station’s flyover bridge. The 140-year-old open-air laundry in Mumbai washes mounds of soiled garments by hand. It is claimed that half a million pieces of clothing are brought there every day from hotels, hospitals, and homes. The entire facility is made up of hundreds of concrete washing stations where laundrymen (dhobis) wash clothes in traditional ways. They are then hung to dry, folded, and delivered to their rightful owners. Dhobi Ghat has evolved into a popular tourist destination, particularly among foreign visitors who like to see the unique sight from above or walk around the area to learn more about the community.

12). Religious Places

Mumbai reflects the different cultures and ethnicities of India. It has a wide range of sacred sites that serve as places of worship and reflection for people of all faiths. The Shree Siddhivinayak Temple, dedicated to Lord Ganesha, is a significant religious landmark in Mumbai and one of the most visited in India. Another Hindu temple, the Mahalakshmi Temple, pays homage to the Goddess Mahalakshmi and is highly revered. Its architectural splendor, enhanced with intricate engravings and beautiful embellishments, exudes divine grace. Haji Ali Mosque is extremely sacred to Muslims and attracts visitors from all walks of life. The mosque, located on a tiny island off the shore, is a wonderful example of Indo-Islamic architectural style. Mount Mary Church is a majestic Roman Catholic church serving as a haven of tranquillity amidst a chaotic cityscape.
