For example, some are better suited for basic work tasks, while some of the more expensive models can even rival some of the best laptops money can buy. Plus, just because one Chromebook has more features than another doesn’t mean it’s the right one for you or the best value for money.

That’s why we’ve put together this comprehensive list of the best Chromebook deals. Each varies in price and has its own strengths and weaknesses, but all are recommended for one reason or another. And if you want to do even more research before buying a Chromebook, we’ve also put together a guide to the best options on the market that you can use to help you decide which ChromeOS machine is right for you.

Lenovo Chromebook Duet 3

If you’re on a tight budget, our top pick is the new 11-inch Lenovo Chromebook Duet 3. The portable 2-in-1 device is a great Chromebook, with a comfortable, detachable keyboard, folding kickstand, and support for USI styluses (although none are included). What particularly struck us, however, was how light it is at just 2.09 pounds, so you can easily take it with you on the go.

However, there are some trade-offs. Heavy multitasking slows down the Chromebook, so this Chromebook isn’t exactly suited for advanced tasks. There are also only two ports, with no headphone jack. Nevertheless, it’s still a good portable Chromebook for light work and entertainment. Regularly $369.99 now you can buy the Duet 3 with 4 GB RAM, 64 GB eMMc storage and a Snapdragon 7c Gen 2 processor for $244.99 if you use the code IDEAABFNOW at checkout. Read our review.

The Lenovo Chromebook Duet 3 is an excellent 11-inch budget device with a magnetically detachable keyboard and kickstand.

Lenovo Chromebook Duet

Our former budget-friendly top pick, the 10.1-in Lenovo Chromebook Duet, is the predecessor to the 2020 Duet 3. Although older, it’s still a good portable device with a detachable keyboard. It also offers excellent battery life and we were able to use it for 11 and a half hours while making Zoom calls and going through various tabs and apps, including Gmail, Slack and Facebook.

Of course it has its weaknesses. This includes the Duet’s tiny keyboard, single USB-C port and – like the Duet 3 – the lack of a headphone jack. With its MediaTek Helio P60T processor, 4GB of RAM and up to 128GB of storage, it’s also not necessarily great for more advanced tasks like the Duet 3. However, it’s fine for browsing and day-to-day work and incredibly affordable at just $189 at Best Buy instead of $299, which is a record low price. Read our review.

Lenovo Flex 5 Chromebook

The Lenovo Flex5 — the best Chromebook for mid-range shoppers — typically retails for around $400, but it still looks and feels a lot better, too. It features a sleek backlit keyboard that’s one of the better ones we’ve used on a Chromebook, along with a physical webcam shutter, front-facing speakers, and a relatively good port selection (for the price) with a microSD reader and a USB -C port on each side. The Flex 5’s audio quality and battery life aren’t great, though, with the latter only offering about five and a half hours of run time when we tested it.

The Flex 5 is for sale with a Intel Celeron N5205U processor, 4 GB RAM and 64 GB storage for $265.83 instead of $379.99 at Amazon, which is close to the best price yet. Read our review.

$266

The Lenovo Flex 5 Chromebook is a great package at an affordable price, with a backlit keyboard that’s one of the better ones we’ve used on a Chromebook.

Samsung Galaxy Chromebook 2

If you’re considering a Chromebook, Galaxy Chromebook 2 from Samsung is currently one of the best Chromebooks on the market. It’s the first Chromebook to feature a QLED panel – ensuring vibrant colors and high contrast – and it offers longer battery life than its convertible predecessor, which didn’t even last five hours on a charge. Admittedly, we weren’t fans of the Chromebook 2’s tacky feel or expensive price tag, but we were pleased with the Chromebook overall and liked the bright, vibrant design of the red model.

At the moment it is the base model for sale at Amazon with an Intel Celeron processor, 4 GB RAM and 64 GB eMMC storage for $419 instead of $549.99. You can also buy it with an Intel Core i3 processor, 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage for it $549 instead of $699.99 from Amazon. Read our review.

$419

The Galaxy Chromebook 2 is Samsung’s flagship Chromebook, one that’s cheaper and better than its predecessor with better battery life, a good QLED display, and a vibrant design.

You can easily use HP’s Chromebook X2 11 as a tablet.

HP Chromebook X2 11

We’ll be honest: we weren’t the biggest fans of it HP’s Chromebook X2 11. We found performance to be choppy, at least during our testing, and the detachable keyboard felt cramped and clunky when used on our lap. However, we think it’s a good buy if you can get it on sale. The X2 11 comes with a USI stylus in the box and offers a 3:2 aspect ratio. The dimensions and aspect ratio make the Chromebook X2 11 convenient for handheld use, with a shape very similar to Apple’s iPad. The tablet’s 1440p resolution and built-in fingerprint scanner are also nice bonuses, the latter making logging in easy.

Again, this isn’t our favorite Chromebook, and it doesn’t offer great value for money at the typical $600 detachable price. However, HP is currently running a promotion that makes it worth a look. You can now buy the X2 11 with 8 GB RAM, 128 GB storage and a Snapdragon 7c Gen 1 processor for $449.99 instead of $679.99. Read our review.
