TECNO has unwrapped its two new 5G smartphones called Phantom X2 5G and PHANTOM X2 Pro 5G. These were unveiled at TECNO Flagship Product Launch 2022 even held in Dubai.

Both of these flagships share several similarities. There is a PHANTOM X2 Pro 5G Eco-Friendly Edition that uses pioneering microfiber back cover which is made with recycled materials (recovered from ocean). It has striking Mars Orange design which represents stark landscapes of Red Planet.

Notably, the Tecno Phantom X2 Pro has triple rear cameras and uses an innovative retractable portrait lens. It is used to make phone slimmer and maintain its 65mm lens that offers 2.5x optical zoom, F/1.49 aperture and 18.9cm depth of field.

TECNO PHANTOM X2 and PHANTOM X2 Pro – specs and features

Both of these measures 164.7 x 72.7 x 8.9 mm and offers dual SIM (nano) connectivity for 5G SA/NSA and Dual 4G VoLTE. These run on Android 12 based HiOS 12 out of the box. They come with an in-display fingerprint sensor for biometrics.

The PHANTOM X2 / X2 Pro both come with 6.8-inch AMOLED display that gives 2400 x 1080 pixels resolution, 20:9 aspect ratio and 120Hz refresh rate, Their screen has Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protection on top for added durability.

Both of these feature in octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 9000 processor with Mali-G710 (10-core) GPU. The PHANTOM X2 coms with 8GB LPDDR5 RAM while the PHANTOM X2 Pro has 12GB LPDDR5 RAM. These have 256GB UFS 3.1 storage space (non expandable).

The PHANTOM X2 5G has 64MP (main, RGBW sensor, 5P + 1GB lens, OIS) + 13MP (Ultra-wide, F/2.2) + 2MP cameras at back along with LED Flash.

The PHANTOM X2 Pro 5G feature in 50MP (main, 1/1.3-inch Samsung GNV sensor, F/1.9) + 50MP (retractable 65mm telephoto, ISOCELL JN1 sensor, F/1.5, 2.5x optical zoom) + 13MP (ultra-wide, F/2.2) shooters at back and LED Flash.

Both of these include a 32MP front camera with F/2.5 Aperture. These have stereo speakers with USB Type-C audio and packs in a 5160mAh (typical) battery. There is support for 45W fast charging as well.

In terms of connectivity, there is 5G SA/NSA, Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 6 802.11ax, Wi-Fi Hotspot, Dual Band (2.4/5GHz), Bluetooth V5.3, USB Type-C, NFC and GPS/GLONASS/Beidou/Galileo.

TECNO PHANTOM X2 series price

The PHANTOM X2 5G price is at at 2700 Saudi Riyal ($718 / Rs. 59,050 approx.) while the PHANTOM X2 Pro 5G price is 3500 Saudi Riyal ($930 / Rs. 76,560 approx.). These will go on sale by end of December globally. Pricing and exact availability dates for other markets were not revealed.
