How To Disable Knox On Galaxy S4? Numerous reports of exploits have exposed security flaws in Samsung’s flagship Galaxy devices.

Samsung also launched an advertising campaign to gain the trust of business class customers.

How To Disable Knox On Galaxy S4

However, with the release of the Galaxy S4, the company introduced a dedicated samsung electronics security service known as Samsung Knox.

Today, I’ll show you how to disable KNOX security on Samsung devices such as the Galaxy S3, Galaxy S4, Note 2, and Note 3.

Previously, the service was only available to people working in business and government.

Later, at the IFA event in Berlin, Samsung unveiled new devices such as the Note 3, Note 10.1 2014 Edition, and Galaxy Gear, as well as the commercial availability of its Knox mobile security system, which helps protect device data from unauthorized use.

WHAT EXACTLY IS SAMSUNG KNOX?

In this manner, if you have Knox installed on your device, which you use as both a personal and a work phone, Knox mobile enrollment allows you to securely store enterprise applications (corporate email, contacts, calendar, etc.) using an Exchange ActiveSync Server.

The service is capable of separating personal and work data, allowing both types of data to coexist on a Knox device-enabled device. To switch from personal to business mode, simply press an icon. Here’s an official video demonstrating what KNOX does:

Actually, Samsung developed KNOX after noticing that security-conscious consumers and the corporate class avoided its smartphones due to security flaws.

Samsung provided a second version of a smartphone as KNOX mode, which is password protected and restricts unauthorized access, by integrating KNOX in the TouchWiz UX. By default, KNOX mode includes apps such as Camera, Gallery, Downloads, Email, S Planner, My files, Phone, Contacts, and S Browser to secure folder. Aside from these, there are approximately 75 KNOX file-apps available for download.

WHY SHOULD SAMSUNG KNOX BE DISABLED?

WHY SHOULD SAMSUNG KNOX BE DISABLED

There is no doubt that the Samsung Knox service is a good security solution for those who have a financial or business reason to protect their data, but many others may not want it on their device.

If you are not a fan of the security Knox provides and prefer to root your device and install custom ROMs without worrying about security warnings, we have provided some instructions on how to disable the Samsung Knox security shield on your device like Samsung Galaxy s4, Samsung Galaxy s6, Galaxy s3, Samsung galaxy s5, and Galaxy s6 edge.

Knox may also be to blame for FC (force close) errors with some of your root privilege apps, which is yet another compelling reason to disable KNOX security on Samsung devices.

CAN’T GET ROOT ACCESS BECAUSE OF KNOX?

If you have KNOX installed on your rooted Galaxy device, you will see a verification message every time some apps on your device request SuperSU. The message is as follows:

“SuperSU attempted to gain unauthorized access to your device’s system.” This action was thwarted.”

“An application on your device attempted to access the system without authorization.”

“Unauthorized access to a restricted area has been prevented.”

You can easily get rid of this annoyance by disabling the Knox service and its agent apps. Remember that once KNOX detects SuperUser on your phone, it will disable it and you may be unable to use any root app. If you are unable to obtain root access (after rooting your device) because KNOX file file prevents SuperSU from doing so, follow these steps on your android phone:

  1. Download the most recent SuperSU zip package here: UPDATE-SuperSU-vx.xx.zip
  2. Open the folder after extracting the zip file.
  3. Go to the “common” folder and copy Superuser.apk to your phone.
  4. Manually install the APK (do not forget to tick Unknown Sources option under Security settings of your device).
  5. Now, open the SuperSU app on your phone, and it will ask you if you want to disable KNOX: “Samsung Knox has been discovered.” This may restrict root capabilities and result in annoying popups. “Try to turn off KNOX.”
  6. Choose OK. It will then inform you that KNOX has been disabled successfully at your Samsung device.

You should now have root access to your Samsung Galaxy device. Use the method outlined below to uninstall KNOX from your device. If the above method does not work for you, it is possible that your phone is not properly rooted.

Use the Root Checker app to confirm the root. Google Play URL: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jrummyapps.rootchecker If the root is not verified, root the device once more before attempting this method.
