Shivneri Fort  

Shivneri Killa is located in Junnar taluka of Pune district and Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj was born in this fort.

This historical place is very high and there is a temple of Shivai Devi in this place, hence the name Shivneri. If you visit here even today, you will find cradles and similar things at the place where Shivaji Maharaj was born. Images of Jijabai and Bal Shivaji Raje are also seen here.

 

 Sinhagad Fort 

Close to Pune is about 25 km. Sinhagad is a fort in Haveli taluka at a distance and earlier it was called Kondhana.

When this fort was conquered, Tanaji Malusare, who was very close to the Maharaja, fell while fighting.

The phrase "The fort has come but the lion has gone" engraved on the pages of history still reminds the Maharajah of the grief that took place at that time. The fort was named Sinhagad Killa to commemorate the memory of Tanaji Malusare as he sacrificed his life for the cause of Sinha.


Torna Fort

Torna Killa is one of the few forts captured by Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in his early days.
