Intel Iris Xe Graphics for Tiger Lake Processors Spotted – 1.3 GHz, 6.3GB

It seems like Intel will be using the same “Iris” branding for the Xe Graphics for its upcoming Intel Tiger Lake U-based CPUs if the latest leak is to be believed.

According to the leak, the graphics unit, codenamed Iris Xe, will be featuring 768 Shading Units with operating frequencies reaching up to 1.3 GHz.

With a total of 96C functional units, it is paired with 6.3 GB of memory.

SiSoftware Ranker gave a score of 17 points for its performance and categorized it in the Low-Performance group. With a TDP of up to 28W, this architecture is intended for low-power designs featured in ultra-thin laptops.

The successor to Ice Lake, the Tiger Lake U processors will be using Gen12 graphics, which are expected to deliver almost twice the performance over Ice Lake.

Intel is aiming for a “summer launch” of this device and can be expected to launch the Tiger Lake-based chips in the upcoming weeks.
