failsafe options

One more post during this weekend, this time related final px4pro firmware configuration and Failsafe settings. Maybe I'm too sensitive about safety but before first full LTE and virtual joystick flight I have to be sure that everything will work fine.

I lost whole week trying to understand differences between available failsafe options and now I know  there is no clear information how it`s really works. Tere is no list of all scenarios that there are coved by failsafe features and it`s look like failsafe options works different for manual and "mission" modes. Lack of knowledge related this part prevent me to start flight tests.

I sent also a few mails to px4pro developers to understand it but not Everything is clear for me yet. Summarizing there are two basic security triggers available in PX4pro firmware:

  • Lost of R/C
  • Datalink lost failsafe trigger

Datalink lost seems to be better option but it does not work for all flight modes. It`s ok for missions but for manual it does not work. For manual flight modes I have to setup "Lost R/C" trigger and I don’t like this inconsistence.

I will setup both of them but I can test only manual modes in home due "mission" mode I can test only in real flight. Sounds not good , its little risky but ... sometime we have to trust developers also :).

It`s looks like next post will have numer 200. I think it`s good time to refresh design little more and I will try to fine better and modern template very soon.
