Dameon Pierce is a four-star running back that has received a lot of national attention. Pierce currently has 18 scholarship offers from schools like Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, Florida, Florida State, Georgia and Miami. On 247Sports, Pierce is the fifth best running back in the country and the 144th overall recruit. On ESPN, he’s the sixth ranked running back in the country and the 100th best player in the country. Dameon Pierce has pretty good size as he is 5’11 and weighs 210 pounds. He is a very strong, powerful running back with deceptive speed. He ran a 4.67 40 yard dash. Pierce is a force when running downhill and he breaks tackles, gets yards after contact, and falls forward when finishing the run. He doesn’t have that breakout speed that teams drool over but he strong and fast enough to still make big plays.
Pierce is certainly one of the running backs in the country but does Florida have the best shot at landing him. If you had to make a prediction in which running back would commit to Florida with Iverson Clement, it would probably be Asa Martin. Asa Martin is a four-star recruit as well but he’s from Decatur, Alabama. With Pierce out of the picture, Alabama will turn their attention to Asa Martin. The Florida coaching staff must keep a close eye on Asa Martin. He is favoring Florida right now but still likes Alabama and Auburn. At the end of the day, I believe Asa Martin commits and signs with Gators or Florida steal Dameon Pierce from Georgia.
