The Birds are back to work.

The Philadelphia Eagles are among 25 NFL teams kicking off their voluntary offseason workout program today.

For a considerable number of players, this marks the first time they’re back at the NovaCare Complex since the 2023 season ended. For offseason additions, it’s their first time working out with their new teammates.

The beginning of the Offseason Workout Program does not include on-field drills, so, we’re not quite at the practice notes level yet. Here’s a full description of all three phases, with the current Phase One in bold:

Phase One consists of the first two weeks of the program with activities limited to meetings, strength and conditioning, and physical rehabilitation only.

Phase Two consists of the next three weeks of the Program. On-field workouts may include individual or group instruction and drills, as well as “perfect play drills,” and drills and plays with offensive players lining up across from offensive players and defensive players lining up across from defensive players, conducted at a walk-through pace. No live contact or team offense vs. team defense drills are permitted.

Phase Three consists of the next four weeks of the program. Teams may conduct a total of 10 days of organized team practice activity, or “OTAs”. No live contact is permitted, but 7-on-7, 9-on-7, and 11-on-11 drills are permitted.

The Eagles won’t reveal which players aren’t attending voluntary workouts (publicly, at least) but it’ll be a little interesting to see if any absences get leaked to media.

Speaking of media, the Eagles are set to make some veteran players available to reporters this week. No word yet on exactly who will be speaking. The Eagles will also be making Howie Roseman and Nick Sirianni available to media for pre-draft media availability tomorrow, Tuesday, April 16.
