Joe Cole hailed Willian’s impact in Chelsea’s 3-1 win at Huddersfield Town on Tuesday night following their derby disappointment at the weekend.
The Brazilian started the Premier League clash at the London Stadium on the bench before he came on as a second-half substitute.
Willian was unable to overturn Marko Arnautovic’s goal but the South American made a big contribution at Huddersfield Town on Tuesday night.
The 29-year-old provided the pass to tee up Tiemoue Bakayoko to make the breakthrough midway through the first half at John Smith’s Stadium.
The former Shakthar Donetsk man doubled the visitors’ lead with a precise header before half-time to take his tally to four goals in the current campaign.
The Chelsea star provided another assist to tee up Pedro Rodriguez for the title holders to take a 3-0 advantage in the second half.
Former Blues star Cole was delighted to see Willian and his Chelsea team-mates overload the Huddersfield penalty area following a tough afternoon at West Ham last weekend.
“There were three players in the box with Willian. That’s something we didn’t see at West Ham,” Cole told BT Sport.
“Alonso put it in the box and it’s a lovely finish from Willian.”
Willian has been linked with a move to their title rivals Manchester United following a frustrating spell under Chelsea boss Antonio Conte.
The Brazil international has struggled to hold down a regular first-team place following eight starts and nine substitute appearances.
